Coverdale Wins!

 In Uncategorized

Coverdale put in a fantastic effort at Redcar on Thursday (4th) under a very good ride from Callum Rodriguez to win very comfortably against some tough opposition. It was absolutely brilliant to see Coverdale go past the finishing post first on his debut run of the 2023 season! Not only did he win but he won for our in-house syndicate; Clarendon Thoroughbred Racing. It really was so thrilling to see him run so well and looking an absolute picture at the racecourse too!

Indiana Be finished 3rd at Redcar, he was very keen at the start and took a while to settle. Callum who rode him did a good job to try and settle him, but too much energy was used up within the first few furlongs. Ed will look for another race for him in a couple of weeks.

Charli Sands ran a very green race at Newcastle and will have learnt a lot from this and we look forward to seeing her run next time now she has a little bit of experience under her belt.

This week sees quite a few runners from the yard running all over the country (ground dependant). Our first runner this week is Open Choice who runs this evening at Newcastle at 6.10pm, this will be his first run of the year after his brilliant debut run at the end of last year.

Other potential runners this week are:

Yorkshire at Southwell on the 11th  over 7f at 1.50 (declared)

James McHenry has two entries at Ascot (12th) & Haydock (12th)

Tiamat, Coverdale & Stellar Queen all at Nottingham on the 12th

Reel Rosie & Nigwa at Ascot on the 13th over 1m2 at 4.20pm

Lowton at Leicester on the 13th over 7f at 7.10pm

Mountain Warrior, Nigwa & Reel Rosie all have entries at Hamilton on the 14th.

Spring seems to have sprung over the past couple of days here at Bethell Racing, minus a day in between which saw it rain all day, but what’s British Spring weather without a bit of rain!

Skye Breeze (4yo) & Granston (22yo) enjoying the sunshine on their back while there spend some quality time grazing next to each other!
