Winners & The St Leger Meeting Lead Up

 In Uncategorized

The team have been on great form over the past couple of weeks with several winners to bring the tally to a total of 40 winners this season so far which is absolutely fantastic. Intrusively set the bar very high by winning his race by several lengths and firmly getting rid of his maiden tag in great style. It has been fantastic to see Intrusively run this season and to see what he has shown on the racetrack so far. He will now head to Doncaster on Thursday to the St Leger meeting for the sales race worth £300,000!

Naepoint was our next winner who won very well at Redcar, it was brilliant to see him get his head in front again this season for his owner. He is a very bonnie horse who really tries everyday and has a fantastic outlook towards life, we are very much looking forward to next season and seeing how he will progress.

Lerwick was our next winner at Beverley who won very impressively, it was absolutely fantastic to see Lerwick win after a long break off the track after an injury earlier this season. He is extremely genuine and tries very hard, it was superb to see him win and for his owners who have been very patient to get him back to a racetrack. We look forward to seeing him run this autumn before being put away for the winter and next season.

Marmaduke Lemon won very comfortably at Wolverhampton to get his head in front for his owners which was great to see has he has been knocking on the door all season and has come extremely close on several occasions.

Kings Merchant has been a little legend and won again for the fourth time this season at Thirsk on Saturday afternoon. He has been extremely consistent this season with not only having won four times, but he has also been placed on multiple occasions this season too. The ground might be going against him now which might call for the end of the season as the ground turns to soft but Ed will make that decision with the owners and will decide if to save him for next season now, especially as he has tried his heart out this season.

The horses have been running very well, not only have we been having winners but the horses have also been running so well and look fantastic in their coats and in their condition. This is a testament to the team for making sure they are carefully managed throughout the whole season to make sure they are still performing to their best possible ability towards the end of the season.

We have an extremely busy week with runners this week and the lead up to the St Leger meeting with runners most days at Doncaster as well as other racetracks. More of our two-year-olds are making their career debuts at the racetrack with two of them making debuts this week with Talismans Time running at Newcastle today and Callisto Dream running at Carlisle tomorrow. The 2yo’s are looking tremendous and are really maturing into their frames after having been given the time over the summer to mature into their frames without rushing them with their work which is vitally important.

It is brilliant to be going to the St Leger meeting at Doncaster with a fantastic team of horses who we hope have a good chance in their respective races. As well as a busy time with the runners and the season still very much in full swing the yearling sales have started and we have so far purchased three striking yearlings, two from the Goffs sales at Doncaster and one from the Tattersalls Sommerville sale at Newmarket. The filly purchased at the Sommerville sales is currently for sale and is a very striking strong filly by the famous Territories; the same sire as our Gr. 1 winner Regional (information about her can be seen on our horses for sale page).
