Two Winners Over The Weekend

 In Uncategorized

The team had a successful weekend with the runners we had. Old Cock set the weekend off in the right way with a fantastic win at Haydock on Saturday under a very positive ride from PJ McDonald. It was brilliant to see Old Cock to win comfortably to make it a third win for him this season, he is a very genuine horse and really tires his hardest to please. He is a very classy tall horse who has always impressed since he arrived here as a raw yearling and showed a lot last year as a 2 year old but as he has such a big frame he needed the time to mature into his frame. It is great to see the patience from the team and his owners is paying off with a successful season.

Our other winner over the weekend was Oosterpark at Ripon on Sunday. He ran a superb race throughout and was very professional as this was only his fourth start of his career, he ran in a brilliant rhythm and won very comfortably by three lengths. It was great to see him win as his owners who also bred him, and who also only live not even two miles away from our yard.

Oosterpark winning at Ripon on Sunday

We have had a slightly frustrating past couple of weeks with having seven seconds, and the horses just getting beaten to the line; although we can’t complain as the horses are running in fantastic form and the successful time makes for a healthy strike rate of 18%!

James McHenry was extremely unlucky to have been beaten as he was travelling so well in his race at Thirsk and was leading for several furlongs leading up to the finish line to only just get beaten by a whisker! Although we have had several seconds which I know Ed would like to convert into firsts but we really cant complain how the horses are running!

Intrustively ran a huge race at Glorious Goodwood to finish third in the Group 2 Richmonshire stakes. He now has a rating of 102 which is very good for a 2 year old especially as he is still a maiden; he has a very exciting rest of the season ahead of him!

The horses are running very well as the results are speaking for themselves. The horses are looking tremendous and are really thriving especially as the sun has made an appearance for longer than a day. It is great to see the 2 year olds coming together and are really maturing into their frames. Danger Bay who is a tall 2 year old and has really come into himself recently an has really shown his class on the gallops at home had his first run at Haydock on Friday and finished a very respectable second to a horse who was having their third run. He is a very exciting horse for the future and we look forward to seeing him on his next start.
