Three Winners Last Week!
We have had a fantastic week last week (w/c 17th) with a double win at Ripon on Thursday the 20th. Kardia flew the flag for the first run of the day and she pulled it out of the bag to win, and she won in tremendous style. She lead from start to finish, winning comfortably, and showed her class, showing what she could be in the future! James McHenry was our second runner of the day and he ran a fantastic race throughout, and he made the running a little too well throughout the race and also lead from start to finish. He pulled away from the field and won with plenty in hand. He was extremely happy to be back out on the turf and to be back at a racetrack after his winter break!
To have a winner is always very exciting but to have two wins on one day is extremely rewarding and makes the long cold winter worth it when the horses are running how they currently are.
Chillingham ran an absolutely cracking race on Saturday from start to finish to win very comfortably under Callum Rodriguez. His win was very impressive and we all look forward to seeing him when he is next out! A huge well done to all connections!
We hope the weather starts to play ball a little more than the Spring weather we’ve currently been having so far. As we have horses who are ready to run but the ground is too soft for them at the moment so we are taking full advantage of running the horses who love the softer ground.
It is so exciting to have had our first runners on the turf for the ’23 season, and there is definitely a buzz around the yard now there is more activity with having runners.
On Monday (24th) we saw Reel Rosie running at Pontefract after her winter break, she has been training very well but unfortunately she wasn’t in the placings at Pontefract as the ground was extremely soft for her. Quandary also ran at Pontefract and this was her debut run, she is very professional at home and has been showing good potential on the gallops. She was a little bit too green on the day but she did finish 3rd respectively, all involved with her were very happy with what she produced on the day and she will have learnt a huge amount and will take that on through into her training and her next race.
This week we have a few entries at several different tracks:
Lowton & Swanland run at Doncaster on Friday the 28th.
Lerwick runs at Haydock the 29th at 4.55 over 1m.
Open Choice runs at Ripon at 3.00 over 1m 2f.
Rock of England runs at Leicester at 4.55 7f or Haydock at 4.55.
Elim runs at Musselburgh on the 30th at 4.45 over 1m.
Good luck to the team and all the connections of these horses, hopefully we can keep up the strong strike rate as anyone who knows Ed, knows he loves his statics and the current strike rate of 32% makes him very happy.
