Runners This Weekend
The weather has been kinder this week to us which has been very welcomed, the sunshine has made more of an appearance although we have had a couple of hail storms which has remined us that we aren’t out of the awful weather just yet. This being said we have a number of runners this weekend on the turf which we are very much looking forward to as the ground has been drying all week. Before we see the runners on the turf we have two runners at Newcastle this evening, Skye Breeze runs at 5.25pm & Berrygate runs at 7.30pm, it will be fantastic to see both of them run and good luck to all of the connections.
Tomorrow we have two runners, Minstrel Knight runs at Haydock at 6.20pm under Jim Crowley & Chillingham runs at Ripon at 6.20pm under Callum Rodriguez.
On Sunday we have four runners in total, we have Quandary who runs at Southwell at 5.55pm under Rowan Scott and the three remaining runners Cabrera, Gemstar & Mountain Warrior all run at Weatherby under Callum Rodriguez.
Monday sees Old Cock running at Ayr under Callum at 4.25pm. Good luck to all of the horses owners and connections and to also our team who put in the hard work throughout no matter what the weather.
It is brilliant to see so many horses running this weekend which feels like the season is just getting going, I know many people feel the same way as the weather has stopped play for everyone!
The horses are training well but are holding onto their coats longer this season which isn’t surprising after all the cold and wet weather we have had. We are willing the sunshine to stay and for it to warm up a little and then the horses will really blossom in their coats which will hopefully follow through into their results too. We managed to get a few of the 2yo colts out onto the grass gallop this morning which was brilliant to see and they worked very well, they are coming on every time they gallop which is very exciting for the season to come. The new barn has had the horses in there for a few weeks now and they have settled in rather well, the new walker is very nearly finished and its days away from being able to be used; it is looking extremely smart!
We have also a new addition to the team, a gorgeous 2yo colt by Soldiers Call who was bought from the Goffs Breezy Up sales this week, He has a fantastic pedigree and is by the same sire as Mickley who Ed trains and thinks very highly off. He has strong athletic physique and has a very level headed temperament. A large percentage of him has already been sold within less that 24hours of the hammer going down, there is 25% remaining in him, do not miss out on this fantastic opportunity and click on out horses for sale page to find out more!
