Regional Wins At York Dante Meeting
Regional wins at the York Dante Meeting! Regional aka Reggie aka Reggie The Rocket ran an absolute blinder at York at the Dante meeting on Thursday the 18th. This was his first run of his ’23 season and he went to York reminding everyone what a legend he is. We were all so happy to see him not only win but to run the race he did from start to finish, he jumped out of the stalls like he meant business and he set the pace at a high speed, reaching speeds of 44mph. His opposition tried to get near him and the nearer they got to him the more he dropped his head and made sure he was getting to the finishing post first. We are so happy for the owners and everyone involved in Reggie! A huge well done goes to Barbara who cares for Reggie like an absolute King, not only from the lead up to the race but also all winter she cares for him like no other, they have a very special bond and she knows him inside and out. He looked a million dollars in the paddock and this was shown when he won the best turned out prize too!
Thursday nearly saw an unbelievable day for the team with Point Lynas also running an exceptional race. Point Lynas finished 2nd by just a head and he tired so very hard to get his head in front, he put everything into the race and we are so proud of how he ran. In his race, they went very quickly from the start for the distance they were running over, he put everything into the race and we couldn’t have asked anymore of him! Well done to his loyal and supportive owners and the guys at home who care for him and accept his quirky ways!
Master Chartwell also ran at York on Friday the 19th, this was his first debut run of his career and he was thrown into the deep end with the atmosphere and the crowds around the parade ring. He looked absolutely exceptional and very imposing in the parade ring, he took everything in his stride and really showed his fantastic level headed attitude towards life. It was a very hot race with his competition looking very impressive too; he really held his own in the strong company he was in. He finished well in the field and came out of the race extremely well and will have learnt a huge amount from it moving forward toward his next race. Well done to his loyal and patient owner who has allowed Ed to give him the time in which he has needed.
It was an amazing few days for all involved and we defiantly celebrated the fantastic runs by the horses.
The weekend saw Cool Run run at Thirsk, she was our first 2yo filly running from the yard for this season. She looked fantastic in the paddock and looks like she has grown recently too. She has a big personality and I think she is even sassier now after her run, we are all looking forward to her next run as she will have learnt a lot from her run a Thirsk and will hopefully put her homework into her work going forwards.
This week is a quiet week on the runners front but we do have a few strong contenders for the weekend. James McHenry runs at Haydock in the Silver Bowl Handicap on Saturday (27th) & Sandbeck also runs at Haydock in the….. We have two potential runners at York on Saturday, Yorkshire & Oviedo have entries.
This week we have a professional photographer and videographer filming the yard, the horses exercising and all the behind images to give people an insight into what Bethell Racing has to offer. We will be updating our website with a new look and with our social media too.
