Mountain Warrior Wins!

Mountain Warrior makes his ’23 seasonal debut a winning one at Southwell Racecourse yesterday under a dazzling ride from Callum Rodriguez! He ran a fantastic race from start to finish and was a total professional throughout the day, he has such a laid back character and takes everything in his stride. He looked an absolute picture, his coat looked fantastic and he soaked up the busy Easter Sunday atmosphere extremely well! A huge well done to Caileigh who rides and looks after him at home, she also won best turned out yesterday too!

Oviedo ran a good race at Newcastle for his first run of the year but unfortunately, he wasn’t in the placings, it was a very hot race. He will have improved for the run and he has come out of his race extremely well!

Powerful Response had his first run for Team Bethell and his new owners. He raced well and showed a lot of promise, he has since been gelded and will slowly come back from this procedure and we are all very much looking forward to seeing him run in the future. He is a lovely, strong athletic looking horse with a fantastic temperament who we hope the owners will have a lot of fun this summer with.

Tomorrow sees our first runner on the turf for the ’23 season which we are looking forward too, Ed had other horses entered but due to the amount of rainfall we have had, he has not declared any of the others to run and will wait for it to dry out a little. Tomorrow we have Big Cheese running at Pontefract under the ride of Taylor Fisher. Good luck to all connections and fingers crossed for our first turf runner!

This week we have a couple of runners, Big Cheese & Tiamat. Tiamat runs at Newcastle on Thursday the 13th at 4.30pm.

Hopefully we can start to have a couple of more runners on the turf when the ground starts to dry up as the horses are raring to go!
