Mickley Wins At Southwell
Mickley ran at Southwell last night and won very convincingly under a tremendous ride from Callum Rodriguez. Ed sent him in hope to run a good race but as he was in the ‘hotter’ division of the race after it divided he was going to have to be in good form for his first run of the season to win, especially as Ed feels he left him a couple of pieces of work short; to go and obliterate the field really does show how much class he has. The other division of the race last night was two seconds slower than the division that Mickley won.
It is fantastic to see Mickley get his head in front and win so comfortably as on his past two starts last year he was so close to doing so. Having had a winter break and being gelded and giving him the time to come into himself slowly over the winter months means he’s come into himself in his own time and this has shown.
A huge well done to our in-house syndicate Clarendon Thoroughbred Racing and all of the syndicate shareholders within Mickley. Their patience has paid off as he was always going to be a 3yo rather than a 2yo and a horse for this year as he is a tall strong framed individual who needed time to mature into himself mentally and physically.
We are all looking forward to the season ahead with him and what it may have in store; watch this space!
Good luck to our other runners, owners and all connections for the runners for the rest of the week. Mountain Warrior on Thursday at Southwell. Quandary on Friday at Lingfield. Chillingham & Initio at Mussleborough & Cavalier Approach on Sunday at Southwell
