Mickley Wins At Doncaster
Mickley made his run at Doncaster on Friday evening a winning one, backing up his seasonal debut win at Southwell. It was absolutely brilliant to see him win so comfortably on Friday evening. He had a very positive ride from Callum and he hit the front well and crossed the line with room to spare from the rest of the field. It was a fantastic win for our in-house syndicate Clarendon Thoroughbreds and all of our shareholders within Mickley. He is a horse who has so much character and is very laid back towards life, he oozes quality and class and this has shown already this season with his back to back wins.
Yorkshire ran at Doncaster on Saturday evening and was extremely unlucky to come a very close second. He was beaten by a neck but showed his true grit and determination to stick his neck down to try to get to the line first. He has a very exciting season ahead and we are all looking forward to seeing him run.
We have a busy week of runners with Music History running at Wetherby this evening for her racing debut. Marmaduke Lemon runs at Nottingham on Wednesday and other entries we have this week are at Hamilton, Haydock, Thirsk, Beverley.
We are looking forward to seeing the horses run this week and hope the weather decides what to do as it doesn’t seem to know what to do at the moment! The horses are going well and the results are speaking for themselves; long may this continue! Some of the two year old fillies have enjoyed a break in the field and it has done them good after having been in constant work, it has allowed them time to grow into themselves and for their minds to have a few easy weeks, which with fillies is very important! The other horses on the yard are all looking brilliant and are training very well, Ed is pleased with how each horse is progressing in their training regime. We are on the countdown with three weeks to go for Royal Ascot where we will hopefully have a few runners all being well they stay sound and well in the lead up! It is always a very exciting time to look forward to such a big and prestigious meeting like Royal Ascot, and we will keep busy in the lead up with lots of other horses running. Good luck as always to our owners, connections and to our team for our upcoming runners.
