We are very excited to have secured a second horse going into the Clarendon Syndicate for next season, he is by the Champion two-year-old and Guineas winning three-year-old Churchill. Churchill was one of Ed’s favourite racehorses, he won on debut in May and was undefeated as a two-year-old winning at Royal Ascot, to winning in October in the Group 1 Dewhurst, to be crowned champion two-year-old. As a three-year-old he made his mark in the English Guineas on seasonal debut and then backed this up in the Irish equivalent, beating a subsequent superstar Thunder Snow.
As a stallion he has produced World Champions in Vadeni who amassed over £2million in prize money. He produced a French champion two and three-year-old filly in Blue Rose Cen, who won Multiple Group1’s during her career.
His dam Sylvestris placed in listed races in Europe and ran huge figures in Gr1’s in America, by the broodmare sire Arch, who needs no introduction. Sylvestris has also produced a very good horse in Vitalogy, who ran third in the Acomb stakes as a two-year-old and then went on to finish third in a Grade 1 as a two-year-old in America. He trained on as a three-year-old and won a Group 3.
This colt is a very strong mover with a strong physical to match, he has a big stride length with a wonderful attitude. He walked around the sales ring with real presence about him. The best part of all is Ed really feels there was some physical improvement to come with him, he is going to not only be a lovely two-year-old but he has the makings of being a very nice three-year-old.
