Frankendael Wins and Make’s It Our 40th Winner of the Season
Frankendael wins very impressively at Beverley under a superb ride from Callum Rodriguez to secure the win. This was Frankendael’s first run from the yard and we are so thrilled to see him win for his owners and their syndicate, especially as they bred him too! He has a lot of character and has a lovely attitude towards his work. We are all looking forward to seeing him run again.
Not only was this a fantastic win for everyone involved but also this was the yard’s 40th winner which is an exceptional achievement to achieve this from the number of horses that have raced so far this season. This makes for very healthy statistics which currently stand at a strike rate of 25%.
It is a busy time at the yard with lots of horses running this Saturday at three different racetracks, it is great to be able to get some of the horses out who like the softer going now we have had the rain. We have runners at York, Catterick & Newmarket. Lowton runs at York, Rock of England at Newmarket & Cool Run, Sanction & Big Cheese at Catterick. Today also sees two runners at Pontefract, Renovate runs for his debut at 2.35pm & Indiana Be runs at 5.30pm, good luck to all of the owners and connections.
Ed has bought a few yearlings from the sales so far and has sold them already which is fantastic to have new and current owners getting involved for next year and beyond. The yearlings are away at pre trainers where they will start their education and start breaking them in and the early stages of riding them away. We are very much looking forward to them arriving at Thorngill and then continuing with their education. It is always an exciting time of year as we can start to get to know their individual characters and seeing them develop under saddle after Ed sourcing them at the sales with his Bloodstock agent, Tom Biggs.
