First winner on the board for the New Year!
Happy New Year, we hope you had a fantastic Christmas & New Year!
Skye Breeze gets the year off to a fantastic start with a brilliant win at Newcastle yesterday under a superb ride from Hollie Doyle. It is a brilliant result for the whole team and Skye Breezes’ loyal owner. What a way to start the 2023 season with a winner from our first runner.
We also had Dream Final & Boucle running at Newcastle. They ran in the same race as each other over 7f, they ran well for their second and third runs.
It is all systems go at Bethell Racing now as we look forward to the 2023 season as it feels in touching distance. All the horses are back in work and have started their trotting work and the horses who trotted in December will start their canter work towards the end of this week. It’s so exciting to be coming into this time of year when the horses fitness plans start to increase and the plans for where the horses potentially might race.
The horses that have stayed in full work over the winter will continue to work and aim for the races that Ed has in mind, some of them will then have a down period before being picked up again before the turf season.
The yearlings are going well and are looking fantastic for this time of year, they had a quieter time over the Christmas period and are now being picked back up and will be back into their full work routine very soon.
The horses look fantastic for this time of year and have really benefited from the downtime they had in the field, they have strengthened up in their bodies and have put a lot of condition on. They are also feeling very fresh in themselves, sticky tape might be required for the riders!
Deepdale runs on Wednesday 4th of January at Newcastle at 2.20. Good luck to Deepdale and Clarendon Thoroughbred Racing Syndicate for tomorrow.
Fingers crossed we can keep the momentum up in which we started the year in!
