An Impressive Double At Southwell

 In Uncategorized

The team had a very impressive double at Southwell on Wednesday evening which saw debutant Florescence running for the first time and she did it in very fine style. She didn’t have the best of draws, being drawn wide, which at Southwell isn’t ideal as you go straight into the bend, but she didn’t allow this to stop her as she broke well and made good ground up to put herself into a good position going into the bend. The favourite, Chiringita was right on Florescence’s side and looked like the favourite was going to go and take the lead. Florescence showed her raw talent and professionalism and made her first run look very easy. As the rest of the horses were off the bridle she skipped away from them and showed her natural turn of foot and her fantastic movement through her shoulder. She won by three lengths and impressed all of us, not only did she win but she also won for her owners who also bred her. As she is British bred she has been registered for the Great British Bonus Scheme which means she won an additional £20,000 on Wednesday evening, not bad for a first run!  This is a fantastic scheme which allows British bred fillies to win £20,000 if they will their maiden race.

Paborus wasn’t going to be outdone by the debutant filly, he equally had a very bad draw having been drawn out wide. He didn’t let this phase him and broke well and then got into a good rhythm straightway, he sat one wide going around the bend and then coming down the home straight he showed his class and ability. He pulled away from the whole field when Callum who was riding him asked him to go and he went five lengths clear of the whole field and made it look very easy. He was running in a class two against other very good horses, so to show what he did was very impressive. He will now be let down and then turned away on holiday in the field to allow him to relax after his season. He hasn’t had many runs this year as he is a big framed horse who has so much potential and needs time to mature into his physique, he is a horse who is all about next year and we are all very excited to see where his journey will take him. The hopes and dreams are alive for over the winter and next season. A huge well done to the owners of both of these horses, patience and time have allowed this horses to come into their own and we look forward to following their journeys. Well done to Callum Rodriguez who rode both of these horses and I’m sure they gave him a fantastic feels underneath him!

We have a busier week this week with runners  to last week and have three running today. We have Yorkshire & Gundogan running at Wolverhampton & Lerwick running at Southwell. The very best of luck to these horses and all connections. Are other horses running this week can be found on the link below:
