A Winner To Start The Year
We have had a positive start to the year with My Champion breaking his maiden by winning well at Wolverhampton under a strong ride from Callum Rodriguez, well done to his owners Future Champions. It is always a relief to get the first one on the board of the new year early on, hopefully this means good things are to come! This win takes Ed and the team to 199 winners on the flat in the UK since he started training, we look forward to the next winner and who will make this milestone for the team.
It has been a busy start to the New Year with a few runners and have all run creditably well and will look forward to their next starts. With the whole country currently being hit with this fiercely cold weather it so far hasn’t put too much stop to getting the horses out to exercise. For once, Yorkshire seems to have missed the bad weather (so far) that is sweeping the south.
As we have kicked off the year with runners and a winner the other horses at home are all in good form and are continuing with conditioning work while a few others are further ahead in their fitness regime with a couple heading out to warmer climates in the next month or two, watch this space to see updates on this. The horses seem well and in good form, we are all extremely excited about the season ahead, with an even better team of horses and we are quietly building the strength of the yard year of year which has been proven in the results.
Not only have we had a winner to start the year but our last winner of 2025 was a jumps winner! Mintrel Knight flew the flag for the yard over hurdles and on his third start he won very inpressively, he is a genuine horse who has really enjoyed his slight carrer change over the winter before he will return to the flat. It has been great following his progress and watching him learn his new trade over the winter. Watch this space for his next start!
