A Winner To Start The Week Off Well!
We had a fantastic start to the week yesterday with Native Instinct winning very impressively under Callum Rodriguez who won by four lengths on his third start of his career. It was brilliant to see him run so well and with so much confidence throughout the race he seemed to have matured hugely from his first two starts and had put what he had learnt from those races into this race. He had a short break after his second run at Thirsk and this time has allowed him to mature. A huge well done to his very supportive owners, we are so thrilled to have ended his season on a high and he will now be let down slowly and will enjoy a holiday in the paddock.
The team also had a winner over the weekend on Saturday at Doncaster which saw Lowton winning very impressively in the very soft going and he won by three lengths under Callum Rodriguez. Lowton is a very fun horse to have on the yard and is extremely laid back about life, he is a very cool customer and loves life.
These two winners brings our total so far this season to 57 which is absolutely fantastic and also brings the strike rate up to 20% which also makes Bethell Racing the second highest strike rate in the UK behind none other than Charlie Appleby!!!! This is a huge achievement for the whole team and Ed, as this comes from a high achieving season and constantly striving for the best results possible. It doesn’t come without very hard work and our loyal owners support, we thank each and every individual that make results and statistics like this happen. We very much look forward to the rest of the season and the rest of the year and to watch the horses run. We have couple of entries this week which sees Dothan entered at Southwell on Saturday & Callisto Dream has been entered at Deauville in France on Sunday.
It is a very busy time of year with horses still running and two more weeks left of the ’24 turf season as well as other horses running on the all-weather. It is always an exciting time of year with the yearlings starting their riding career at the pre-trainers. We have a few of them making their grand arrival at Bethell Racing later this week which will be very exciting to see how they progress moving forwards. We have some very exciting prospects for sale which can be seen on our horses for sale page. Ed managed to secure a very exciting yearling at the Arqana sales last week in France, this yearling has a huge amount of potential as he is by Recoletos who Paborus is by, a horse Ed trains who is rated 103. This yearling is half to a Gr.3 winner as well as half to a Gr.1 placed horse. He is an absolute steal at the price and is defiantly one not to be missed.
