A Royal Round Up
The team have had a busy and successful time over the past month with horses winning and all bringing prize money home from Royal Ascot. The team headed to Royal Ascot with three runners which was headed by Regional running in the King Charles lll Group 1 on the Tuesday of the meeting. He ran a huge race and really wore his heart on his sleeve like he does in every race he runs in. He finished a brilliant 3rd place and his owners and the team were thrilled with the way he ran, he really doesn’t owe anything to anyone, he really is a legend. Our next horse to run was Yorkshire who ran on the Thursday of the meeting and finished 6th, he ran a huge race and was very unfortunate to get caught behind horses who weren’t travelling as well as he was and this left him with nowhere to go. It was great to see him run so well and show his talent and for our in-house syndicate Clarendon Thoroughbred Racing to have a runner at the Royal Meeting. Not only was Yorkshire flying the flag for the syndicate, we also had Oolong Poobong who was flying the flag for Clarendon. She ran on the Friday of the Royal meeting and ran a huge race on ground that would be plenty quick enough for her to finish a brilliant fourth place! It really was tremendous to see all of the horses which Ed sent down to Royal Ascot to finish in the placings and come home with prize money, although there weren’t any winners this time we are pleased with the way the horses ran and how they came out of their races.
The team have had a busy time not only with Royal Ascot but also our other runners around the country where they have been winning and placed in the majority of their runs. Painstakingly so we have now had 40 second places which have been very frustrating to say the least but the horses have been finishing in the top four in most of their races which is fantastic to see the horses in good form.
We have had a great weekend but again a very near weekend with Point Lynas consisting in the Group 2 at Ascot on Saturday to run a huge race to finish 2nd by half a length, he has the biggest heart even if he is quirky and does things in his own way. Not only did Point Lynas finish 2nd but also See That Storm ran a huge race to finish 2nd in the John Smith Cup at York. Although we have had our fair share of seconds we have also had brilliant winners, Crowns Lady made it back to back wins as well as Wicket Keeper who look very exciting and progressive, Talismans Time has also had back to back wins and looks to have an exciting season ahead. As well as these horses showing their consistent form we have had some brilliant wins with Danger Bay who looks to have really come into himself since his run as well as Azure Angel who has changed out of all recognition since arriving on the yard after having been bought from the horses in training sale. These are just to name a few and we are very much looking forward to the rest of the season to see these horses continuing their 2025 campaign as well as some of the 2yos who will be making their racing debuts.
The yard has a vibrant buzz around it and with horses travelling around the country to race and not only race but to be running in big handicaps, listed and Group races its so exciting to be around. This weekend we look forward to seeing Regional running in the Watch this Space.
