A fantastic day for our Clarendon Open Day & other news
We have had a busy time at Bethell Racing over the past few days. To kick the beginning of the weekend off in style we had a brilliant WIN with Yorkshire in the Novice Stakes 6f race. He stormed home under a fantastic ride from PJ McDonald who spoke very highly of him. He will now have an easier time over the winter and build up to next spring ready from the 2023 season, exciting times ahead for all connections and the team!
We also had another runner on Friday, Lerwick, he ran a very good race but was tiring towards the end. He’s a big horse and will also now have an easier time over the winter to let himself grow into his big strong frame, definitely one to be watched for next year!
On Saturday Ed worked a few of the horses who are heading to their next few races in the forthcoming weeks, and we look forward to seeing them run.
On Sunday we had our Clarendon Open Day which was tremendous from start to finish, to set the scene we had crystal blue skies with a dash of wind (it wouldn’t be Yorkshire if we had perfect weather). Everyone was greeted with a warm drink and our Brochure with all the information about our four yearlings on offer. The parade was a fantastic show for everyone to see the striking yearlings we have on offer for the forthcoming season and beyond. This was followed by bubbles and a light lunch for everyone to discuss the yearlings in depth and then speak to Ed one on one about his thoughts on them. A superb day with all involved and an enormous thanks to our team who we couldn’t do it without!
Yesterday our week was so very nearly kicked off to the perfect start with Coverdale running in the 1m Nursery Handicap. He was just beaten and has solidify his fantastic form as a 2yo and will now have a quieter time over the winter.
A busy week ahead for the team with lots of runners, today we have two runners at Newcastle; Folio runs in the Apprentice Handicap 1m 4.5f at 1.30 & Deepdale runs in the Restricted Novice Stakes 7f at 2.08.
On Wednesday we have two running at Newmarket; Tiamat runs in the Fillie’s Restricted Novice Stakes 7f at 1.20 & Nigwa runs in the Fillie’s Handicap 1m at 4.10.
Friday is our busiest day this week with runners, once the declarations have been made, I shall keep you informed.
