Powerful Response Adds Another Win To His Name to Make It 30 Winners This Season So Far!

What a performance Powerful Response put in on Saturday evening to make it back to back wins for him and the team! Shane Gray who rode him, rode him exceptionally well at Hamilton which is a very undulating track and has to be ridden with thought and good timing. Shane let Powerful Response find his own rhythm throughout the race and didn’t rush him down the rolling hills. He put in an excellent performance in the home straight to finish full of running and a few lengths ahead of the field.

This horse has come on in all recognition and looks a very different horse from when he arrived. He has been given the time and thought that he needed to be able to become the horse he is today.

Huge well done to his owners and all of his connections who are having a fantastic season with him so far, after only having purchased him at the beginning of the year through Ed who bought him with Blandford Bloodstock from the sales in February.

Powerful Response was not only a back to back winner himself but his win was Bethell Racing’s 30th win of the season and keeping up a very strong strike rate of 27%. These numbers are both huge achievements for this time of year and for a young, expanding yard.

None of this would be possible without our phenomenal team, owners, and of course our awesome horses. Long may it continue!

This week we start off with a quiet week on the runners front but then it gets very busy towards the end of the week with lots of runner if the ground stays on our side!

We have entries for Hamilton, Haydock, Nottingham & Pontefract on Friday & Doncaster, Ripon & Haydock on Saturday & Redcar on Sunday. We potentially have one runner in France on Monday with Oviedo, depending on where Ed decides to run him depending on the ground.
