Ed’s Blog
Good morning/afternoon/evening, when you might be reading this blog from me about how 2023 has been so far.
2023 has started off in a great manner and I could not be more pleased with how my third season of training has started. We have had a couple of winners each month which currently sees us at six winners so far this year, and are currently operating at a 33% strike rate, long may this strike rate continue!
Mint Edition was one of the highlights this year winning three on the bounce. Skye Breeze has been flying the flag over the winter and runs on Friday 31st March.
I have been over the moon at how the horses have wintered this year and how they have come into themselves coming into the Spring, on the whole, they are looking fantastic in their coats and are loosing all of their winter fluff!
I am thoroughly excited of what lies ahead for this forthcoming season, I have a wonderful bunch of 3yo’s. Yorkshire spearheaded them at Southwell winning a £20,000 Novice and won well despite the distance being against him.
I’ve been really happy with the way the horses have been training and I am very much looking forward to running them when the ground decides to dry up a little! The turf season starts on Saturday and ’23 season hopefully looks like an exciting one.
I had Point Lynas entered into the Lincoln on Saturday but unfortunately, after the amount of rain we have had the ground went too soft for him so he won’t be running.
I will wait for the ground to dry up a bit before we start running on the turf. I know fortune favours the brave and patience will be rewarded.
Not only do we have a fantastic group of horses, I also have a hard working dedicated team who without them none of this would be possible and I know there is a buzz around the yard now Spring is here and the horses are starting to run.
Hopefully next time I do my blog I will have some positive news in the way that the horses are running.
I hope you enjoyed reading my first blog and I look forward to doing my next one.
