A Dante Winner & Many More
The team have been very busy since our last update and had been doing very well although a little frustrating at times! Old Cock flew the flag for the Bethell Racing team at the York Dante Meeting being our only runner and he made it count as he ran extremely well and won very comfortably under a brilliant ride from Callum Rodriguez. A huge well done goes to his owner who had a double on the day and won with Pride of Arras who is a homebred and ran in in the Derby trial, we wish all connections the very best of luck for this weekend in the Derby, what a story that would be!
The horses have run well this past week although we have have several that haven’t quite hit bullseye and have finished in second place, five to be exact, what could have been a very exciting week, but that being said the horses that did win won very impressively and beat their rivals very comfortably. Talismans Time ran a couple of weeks ago and showed his talent and power by winning with ease, he is a big horse who has needed time and patience from his owners to be able to fill out into his tall frame, he really has come into his own this year and it looks to be an exciting season ahead for him.

Wicket Keeper ran a fantastic race on Friday at our local track Catterick to win impressively for his first start from the yard after having be bought from the horses in training sale. He is a big framed horse who Ed likes a lot and is very much looking forward to seeing where the year takes him; defiantly one to watch. Oolong Poobong wasn’t going to let the girls side down and ran at Haydock on Saturday to win comfortably by several length under a great ride from Connor Beasley. A fantastic filly who is so genuine and has a huge amount of determination, she is a very fun horse who Ed likes training a lot.

Our other horses which have been running have had good runs, and this year so far there have been 22 seconds! The horses are in good form and are running well, albeit a little frustrating to be finishing in second place (especially when the trainer is uber competitive and loves statistics) but as we head into the month of June and with the rain not making much of an appearance for the majority of Spring we have been able to run our quicker ground horses, maybe our soft ground horses will be running in the height of the summer if the rain comes then. As we all know the British Summer weather is so unpredictable so we will be on weather watch. As we are now in June this means only one thing… Royal Ascot! Talking about the weather, the horses heading to Royal Ascot are all looking to have the faster ground so lets keep our fingers crossed that the rain can stay away for the next three weeks (if only it was that simple!).
Not only have the horses been running and we have been enjoying the sunshine but we hosted our in-house syndicated morning for Clarendon Thoroughbreds. This is always a fantastic morning to get all of our syndicate members together and for them to see all of the horses within the syndicate in a parade and on the gallops. More pictures to follow!
All the horses on the yard are in good form and are all feeling rather well with a few extra shapes thrown in for good measure on the way to the gallops. We are looking forward to seeing the horses run over the forthcoming weeks and will enjoy seeing the younger ones progressing in their work day to day at home.
