Runners This Week
We had a busy weekend with horses running, although we didn’t have any winners on the board we had a good positive weekend with some 2yo’s horses making their debuts which both showed a huge amount of promise for the future and we really look forward to seeing them on the racetrack again soon! Chillingham’s race at Haydock was unfortunately called off on Saturday which was disappointing as this would have been his first run back after his mid-summer break. It was called off due to the ground not being safe on the bends. Safety is paramount in this sport and it is better to have a called off race than an accident from a situation that people were aware about; there is always another day.
The horses are training very well and we are really looking forward to the next 6 weeks as we lead up to Goodwood towards the end of July and also the Ebor meeting at York towards the end of August. We will be having lots of runners between these two big meetings with hopefully more 2yo’s making their debuts and the older horses continuing on their good form.
We had a fantastic evening at the pub with our team to celebrate Mickley’s fantastic win at Royal Ascot and to also celebrate Racing Staff week. We had a great evening in the sunshine with the whole team, it is brilliant to spend time outside of work with the whole team, and its a small thank you to the hard work that they put into the day to day running of the yard and they care they have for the horses.
This week we have entries at Pontefract tomorrow where we have three runners which are Valued at 2.40pm, Elim in the listed race at 3.10pm & Cavalier Approach at 5.17pm (fingers crossed the rain comes for all three of them). Our other entries this week are at Carlisle, Doncaster, Chester, York, Ascot, Hamilton & Newmarket. We have some very exciting entries this week with Regional entered at Newmarket in the Group 1 July Cup & Chillingham at Ascot in the Magnum Classic Class 2 Handicap. We wish all of our owners, connections and our team the best of luck with all of our runners. Fingers crossed the rain falls at all of the right racetracks and stays away from the ones we would like faster ground (if only it worked as simply as that), we will be on weather watch!
