Initio Wins & The Yearlings Start to Come in!
Initio had a fantastic win at Wolverhampton on Friday evening under a great ride from PJ McDonald, he won comfortably and it was fantastic to see him win for his very supportive owner Mr Rozenbroek, it was a fantastic result for everyone involved.
It has been an extremely busy time of year as it is for all racing yards with the turf season still in full swing and the sales having been on, I think everyone is relieved that the sale season has quietened down for now although there are a few more to come this year. We have a few runners this week with Havana Rose running at Newcastle tonight at 6.30pm. Gundogan runs tomorrow also at Newcastle at 5.15pm. Other entries we have this week are at Newcastle & Newmarket on Thursday & Friday.
This past week we have welcomed some new faces onto the yard with three yearling fillies, they have adapted to their new home and surroundings very well and I think it really shows their characters as to how they have taken to their new routine here. It is always such a fun time of year having the yearlings coming in as it is a time when the turf season is starting to slow down as we only have two more weeks of the turf season and the all-weather racing is in full swing, although we will be having a smaller team of horses to race over the winter as the other ones who raced this summer are enjoying their very well earned holiday in the field!
I find the yearlings are all so inquisitive and so interested in getting to know their new home and the stables friends next to them, they love watching the other horses come past their stables and watching the world go round. Although the racing side of thing things starts to slow down a little, the yard is very busy with stables and barns being painted as well as yearlings starting their education by being broken in and ridden away, watch this space for pictures of the yearlings on the next update.
