March News Pt.1

 In News

We’ve had a busy couple of weeks here at Thorngill and the weather has certainly not helped!  Wind, rain, fog, snow, sleet with a bit of glorious sunshine thrown in.

Up onDSC01703 the High Moor the new Carpet Gallop has bedded in nicely and is receiving great feedback from trainers and riders. This is hugely valuable to us as it allows us to build stamina in our horses whilst training over longer distances on a more forgiving surface.

Our horses are thriving and becoming fitter by the day as they build up to the start of the season proper.  We’ve had all of our 2 year olds x-rayed and vetted so we know where we stand and we’re pleased to report that they’re progressing well.

Lady Canford is due to run on the all-weather at Wolverhampton in the 5:10 1m maiden on Saturday 12th March.  Roger Charlton has a fancied favourite with Intermittent for Khalid Abdulla but we’re hopeful of a good run as she’s going well at home.

In other news, Thankyouverymuch didn’t like the sand at Southwell and the plan for her is to go back over hurdles on the 23rd of March.

There has been a lot of interest in our 2 new syndicates this week, especially our Bated Breath colt, Coverham, so if you were thinking of taking a share don’t hesitate to contact us by phone/facebook/twitter.
