Finally, Spring is here, the temperature has noticeably improved and we’ve got some consistent sunshine.  Or, perhaps Ed Bethell has brought some of the weather back from his work riding holiday in sunny Australia!

For the last few months, the now svelte Edward has been working and riding out for the “First Lady of Australian Racing”, Gai Waterhouse.  As the start of the Flat Season is fast approaching, and things are starting to pick up pace here at Thorngill, Ed has kindly offered his services until he takes up his new role as Pupil Assistant to Charlie Hills in Lambourn.

After not enjoying the sand, Thankyouverymuch has schooled well over the hurdles on the Low Moor and is in good form ahead of her run in the 4:20 two mile Handicap Hurdle at Wetherby today.

It’ll be a busy couple of days as we’ve 2 more runners tomorrow.  At Southwell, Princess Peaches aims for her first win of the year, over the mile at 4:10.  She’s been in great form at home and we’d expect the extra furlong would work in her favour.

A bit further down the road at Kempton, Rich Again bids to go one better than last time out in the 6f Handicap at 8:15.  With the form of his close second in his last race being franked by the winner in a higher class race last week, he’s well placed for a big run.

The rest of the yard are all progressing well and gearing up for the start of the turf.  Stay connected with us via this site/twitter/facebook for more news in the build up to the season ahead.
