With only a few weeks to go until the start of the Flat Season, things are starting to pick up pace here at Thorngill.  In a week where we’ve had 3 runners and a number of horses stepping up in their work, our staff have suitably raised their collective game to cope!

On Tuesday at Wolverhampton we had 2 sisters running in Princess Peaches and Fruit Salad.  Peaches ran well in defeat, staying on strongly to finish 4 lengths behind Tom Dascombe’s even money favourite.  Later, in the 4:35, everything seemed to conspire against her sibling Fruit Salad! After being squeezed up shortly after the gates and losing momentum, she showed good speed to stay with the pack but was then forced 4 wide round the bend at which point her race was over.  After all this she showed courage and stayed on up the straight and will improve for the run.

Rich Again ran a fantastic race in finishing 2nd at Kempton on Wednesday.  Having only his second run at the track, he looked the winner 1f out after being held up and picking his customary way through the pack only to be collared close home!  He’s definitely a horse in form and should be one to watch next time out.

If you’re keen to experience the thrills of Racehorse ownership at an affordable level, we still have shares remaining in two of our Clarendon Syndicates for the season ahead, have a look at our Horses for Sale section for more details about these promising 2 year olds!
