Busy Week ahead
This week we have entries all over the country. Starting this evening with Jessinamillion who is running at Beverley, he is running in what looks a competitive race but he is receiving a lot of weight off his rivals and we know that he is far better than his mark, he just hasn’t showed us what he is truly capable of this year, maybe tonight is his night.
Wednesday we have declared Mudawwan for Leicester in the 7.40pm race, he will run with blinkers on and he galloped really well in them last week, He has slightly let me down this year as we thought on his work in the spring he could be a horse who could take us to new levels this year, I am just hopeful that the blinkers spark a bit of a revival and he can get his head in front.
Friday, we have two entries, Harrogate has an entry at York, his work has been very good since his last run and he will get a pair of blinkers on as well just to help him concentrate, he has always shown to us that he is a decent horse so we are hopeful he will repay the faith.
In addition to Harrogate, Tie A YellowRibbon has an entry at Thirsk, she has really come out of her race extremely well and I believe she has come on for the run. It looks like a competitive race, but she is well and we are very happy with her.
Saturday we have four entries, two at Ascot and two at Newcastle. At Ascot we have Ulshaw Bridge entered in the Porcshe Handicap, the entries have just come out and there are 17 entered, however at a glance it certainly looks competitive but for a race worth £50,000 you would expect it to be competitive.
Also down at Ascot we have Hesslewood entered in the Listed Pat Eddery Stakes and we will monitor the ground situation this week as to whether he will take his chance.
In Addition to the runners at Ascot we have entries at Newcastle, the first of them would be Cuckoo’s calling, who will be making her Handicap debut, she has been training really nicely and we are looking forward to her taking her chance, it what looks a wide open heat.
We also have Truth or Dare entered in the prestigious Beeswing Handicap, this would be the first time he has run on the AW for us, we will have a look at the race, but this is more of a precaution as we would prefer to send him to Glorious Goodwood the following week.
Finally and by no means least Towton has an entry in a Juvenile Hurdle at Uttoxter, where we are hoping this may wake him up and bring out the best in him.
Everything is running smoothly here at Thorngill and we are happy with the way the horses are running at the moment. Fingers crossed for some luck this week!
